The UK’s strategic and tactical transport fleet is based at RAF Brize Norton with C-130 Hercules, Tristar, VC10 and C-17 aircraft. Flying on Wednesday 23rd May 2012 was a C-130J in special forces green, the tanker variant of the VC10 (KC1), the transport variant of the VC10 (C2) and a visiting C-17 from Qatar.

The USAF also operates a strategic and tactical transport fleet in the UK at RAF Mildenhall with KC-135 tankers from the 100th Air Refuelling Wing. A number of different types also transit from the base with a C-17 and a US Marine KC-135T pictured from the 25th and 26th May respectively.
